Beverly Penn: Foregrounding is the first comprehensive examination of the Texas-based artist’s expansive 30-year career. The publication provides an in-depth overview of her main bodies of work – Arcadia, Hybrids, Taxonomy, Timeline, and Weeds – richly illustrating more than 70 artworks and installation, spanning small objects to public projects.
This monograph features scholarly essays by curator and author Suzanne Ramljak, art historian Kathryn Blair Moore, and a conversation between Penn and plant ecologist and botanist Tanisha M. Williams. The publication is designed by award-winning book designer M. Wright and published by French & Michigan.
